Popbox gets July 23 ship date

Initialy due to ship on July 4, but the PopBox producer has decided to go with the firmware: “wasn’t quite where we wanted it”
In addition to the hardware, Syabas also outlined the initial apps, or Popapps, that should come with the set-top box on launch day. Google’s Picasa and YouTube will be the headlining options, but other major additions will bring Photobucket and Twitter as well as podcast viewing from Next New Networks and Revision3.

Logitech has just announced its first Mac-compatible webcam, the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro. The cam features a 2-megapixel sensor with premium autofocus technology and, most importantly, Carl Zeiss Optics. Not only that, with this new device you’ll be able to record sharp 720p high-def video clips, and VGA-quality video at up to 30 frames per second while video calling with iChat and Skype. It also features Logitech’s RightLight 2 Technology, which enables the webcam to “adjust intelligently in dim or harshly backlighted situations.” Available in July for approx $129.99. [Logitech]

Asus has released a new flagship graphics card, the GTX 280. The ASUS GTX 280 has a core clock of 602MHz, a shader clock of 1296 MHz and a memory clock of 2214 MHz. The graphic card will work in SLI mode as well as 3-way SLI mode. A single NVIDIA GTX 280 delivers more performance alone than a single 9800 GX2, the SLI and 3-way SLI performance will be awesome.
